Meet Scott Gayer – Creative Copywriter

1.   Previous job, college, any facts relevant to your career path and how you ended up at Gragg.

I’ve worked in Integrated Marketing for the University of Nevada – Reno as videographer and writer.  My last job was serving as a video production artist and musical worship leader for a church called Grace.  My BA is in Journalism, and my MA is Interactive Journalism all from the University of Nevada – Reno.  My wife and I recently moved to Kansas City because she is starting medical school in the fall of 2012 at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.  I found Gragg because it’s 5 minutes from my house, and it presented an amazing opportunity to do creative work for a cutting edge agency.

2.   Any funny information about yourself, your interest, etc.

I used to sport an afro, stick straight hair, and pink spiky highlights during my high school and college days.  I’ve run a mile in 4 minutes and 26 seconds.  I’m fascinated by the progression of digital media and communication.  At my core, I’m a Christian and couldn’t imagine life otherwise.

3.   What do you like to do?

Adventures with my wife of three years are one of the best ways that I unwind.  I’ve also been playing music for 12 years in various bands and for Christian ministries.  My indie rock band, The Newborn Citizens, is about to release its first album.  I play electric and acoustic guitar, banjo, bass, and drum set in addition to singing.
